Frequently asked questions

It's good for cutting through oil, odour and residue buildup on the coat, especially for dogs that get a bit whiffy between washes. It gives the coat a deeper clean than a standard everyday shampoo.

Every 4 to 6 weeks is plenty. Clarifying shampoos are designed for occasional deep cleaning, not daily or fortnightly washing, so alternate with a gentler everyday shampoo like Nourish.

Used as directed, every 4 to 6 weeks, it shouldn't. It's the overuse of any clarifying product that can dry a coat out, so stick to occasional use and follow with conditioner.

It can be a bit strong for very reactive skin. If your dog has known sensitivities, we'd suggest our Sensitive Shampoo with manuka honey instead, and save Clarify for dogs with typical, non-reactive skin.

Because it's used less often than an everyday shampoo, roughly every 4 to 6 weeks, a bottle typically lasts several months for a medium dog.
